I have been on a self discovery path for as long as I can remember- even before I knew what self discovery was! My first exposure to yoga was through a Denise Austin VHS tape that I regularly used in my basement in high school. I tried for many years to fit into a mold of what I "thought" I was supposed to do with my life. But each time I would start something, my intuition always told me to pursue yoga. So after my children were born, I visited almost every yoga studio in the Omaha area, trying out different styles of yoga and teachers. Finally I decided to enroll at Evolve to Harmony, under the direction of Carole Westerman-ERYT 500, and completed my Yoga Teacher Training. Its is from teacher training that I learned that yoga is so much more than just the postures (asanas), but a way of life.
My professional training consists of a 200 hour, Yoga Alliance, Registered Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT200). I am currently enrolled in the 500 Hour Certification program with Carole Westerman and will have it completed in 2022. I am also a Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master and am pursuing my education in Thai Yoga Bodyworks and Thai Massage from the Devanadi School of Yoga and Wellness in Minneapolis, MN.
I am a full time Mom to my two children, June and Calvin, who keep me busy! I love spending time with my family and friends and am always trying to incorporate yoga into my daily life. Yoga has given me the opportunity to find peace, gratitude, and grace towards myself and others. Yoga has made me a more patient and happier person. Yoga is helping me find a greater appreciation for my body. I notice that the days I do yoga are always better than when I do not. I am grateful to be able to share yoga with you and hope to see you at Half Moon!
When I took my first restorative yoga class I didn’t know what to expect, but I’m so glad I tried it. I remember being blown away by how my body felt immediately after the class, I slept like a baby, & the sense of calm the next day made me realize I needed it in my life on a weekly basis. Fast forward a few years, I decided to become a yoga teacher & I focused on all things restorative.
Restorative yoga is giving yourself the permission to rest, renew, & restore. We all have so many things pulling us in numerous directions & it is so important that we give the rest & restore part more attention.
My class helps bring the back the balance we all crave & need in our lives. Giving the body, mind, & soul 60-90 min of ease. Taking time to notice the pause, your breath, & to just be. Allowing your body to relax into your mat & feeling the earth hold you. Melting. Softening. Letting go. Unclenching the jaw. Finding your pause & relishing in the stillness. Embracing savasana. (Final resting pose)
I’m a 500hr RYT, Reiki Master & I hold additional certificates in Restorative Yoga, YIN, Yoga Nidra, & RY hot stones. I love sharing restorative yoga with everyone so I’ve branded myself as a Traveling Yoga Gypsy.
When I’m not in my gypsy role, I’m a dental office manager, or just a girl livin’ her best life.
Join me for yoga bliss. The class will be 5-6 poses with oodles of soft props, dim lighting, soft music, & aromatherapy with essential oils. Host a class, my house or yours, or at the studio! I am the Traveling Yoga Gypsy
My name is Rebekah Lowe (she/her). I am a Yoga Teacher, Intuitive, and Reiki Master Teacher. I found yoga when I was in high school but stopped after being diagnosed with a neurological condition and eventually having brain and spinal surgery in my mid 20s. I honestly never thought I’d do yoga again after that until almost 10 years later, when I found a wonderful teacher who had the knowledge to help me regain my confidence to come back to my mat. Since then I have had a passion for the more yin side of yoga and currently teach Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra.
I completed my 200 hour training with Carole Westerman In 2019 and I am currently training with Carole for my 500 hour. During my training I also took a trip to India to experience the culture and roots of yoga; that trip made a profound impact on my life and practice and that is something I strive to honor in my classes.
My study and practice of healing and Reiki began almost a decade ago in 2012, and I became a Reiki Master teacher in 2014. I completed my Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki training as well as my Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Training with William Rand at the International Center for Reiki Training.
I absolutely love combining my love for healing and yoga as they are a perfect complement to each other. My goal is to create a safe space where you can connect, explore, and grow your practice, on and off the mat.
“I am a firm believer in the divine and it’s infinite accessibility. Ideas, inspiration, comfort and abundance surround us always and are ripe for the picking. In my 25 years as a professional artist and writer, I have found much joy in the art of creating. Likewise, my path in yoga has brought growth and understanding by the journey, through the process. I encourage you to join me on this path to health, wisdom and gratitude.”
