From a young age, Carrie was drawn towards a spiritual way of living and mind body connection. Carrie's first exposure to yoga was through a Denise Austin yoga VHS tape that she bought in high school and regularly practiced it in her room! It has stuck with her because no other exercise ever made her feel as good as yoga! Yoga has been her favorite form of "exercise" since then and has visited almost every yoga studio in the Omaha area, trying out different styles and teachers. Finally she decided to pursue her interest and passion for yoga and enrolled at Evolve to Harmony, under the direction of Carole Westerman-ERYT 500, and completed her Yoga Teacher Training. Its from her teacher training that she learned that yoga is so much more than just the postures, but a way of life. Her professional training consists of a 200 hour, Yoga Alliance, Registered Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT200). She is currently enrolled in the 500 Hour Certification program with Carole Westerman at Evolve to Harmony to further her education and deepen her knowledge of the practice of yoga. She is also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, spending as much time immersed in nature as possible and overall just having fun. She loves bird watching, drinking coffee, being active and reading any and all books she can get her hands on! Carrie strives to bring yoga into everyday life by doing, evolving, and truly living it, allowing peace and joy to flourish within, and spread to others. She teaches Flow classes, Restorative and Yin classes and can't wait to meet you all!
Why yoga? Yoga initially hooked me back in high school when I tried a work-out tape with one of my best friends. I loved how the movement didn't feel like your typical workout. Fast forward several years when I started taking classes in person and absolutely fell in love with the culture and atmosphere. At that point, I knew at some time I was going to become a yoga teacher. A couple of babies (Evy and AJ), a bunch of health issues, and a career change later (Owner of Good Flour Confections) I found myself at Half Moon rediscovering the inner pieces of me that had been lost for a while. While taking yoga teacher training we were asked what it was that lead us to that point, and for me, it was reconnecting with my magic. Yoga to me brings out my inner magic and helps me feel connected with everything and everyone.
Why I teach Move and Meditate? I have NEVER been able to effectively meditate until I took teacher training and learned that yoga itself was created to take a more comfortable seat in meditation. By using the ideas from the old scriptures of Patanjali's Sutra's and put them into practice, I've finally been able to drop into a peaceful place and meditate. More than anything I want to share that knowledge with the world! We all deserve peace within and happiness.
Vicki completed her teacher training at Lighthouse Yoga in Omaha, Nebraska and is a RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance. She is also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.
I have been practicing yoga since 2015 & recently received my 200-hour yoga certification through Lotus House of Yoga in Omaha. Breathwork & arm balances were my first love of yoga. I appreciate all different kinds of classes but have a special LOVE for power classes that are high vibrational & sweaty- all while getting you more attuned to your body. Although my classes are designed for all levels, I like to incorporate small challenges in each class that will leave you feeling inspired and accomplished. I believe yoga can ultimately be life changing & a practice that will enhance your mind, body, and spirit on and off the mat! Come get your zen on with me!!
My name is Caitlin Finn. I am a certified Yoga Teacher, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher, and Reiki Master, with continuing education certifications in Restorative Yoga, Chair Yoga, and Chakra Healing. Previously, I worked for 7 years in the wellness industry overseeing a massage and skincare clinic. During this time, I was responsible for the experiences of thousands of clients and hundreds of employees. I pride myself on having perfected the art of customer service and crafting customized experiences for each individual client; skills that are seamlessly transferable to my healing modalities.
I believe we all possess the power to heal ourselves and I am steadfast in understanding that my purpose in this life is to help show you how. Healing emotional wounds, reversing deep-rooted thought patterns, and learning the power of love is possible! I felt called into service to help spread the healing properties of Yoga, Meditation, Mindfulness, and Reiki after they proved incremental in my own healing journey. Answering that call has been one of the most soulful, joyful, and liberating experiences of my life and I cannot wait to share that with you.
Outside of healing, I am a single mother to two exquisite daughters, age 11 and 9. I am an avid reader and have an ever-growing home library. I own a virtual proofreading business called Proof in Print. I operate a virtual women’s support group called Women Motivating Women: Mind-Body-Spirit with two other incredible goddesses. Three things that are present in my day-to-day routine: coffee, reading, and professional skincare products.
Originally from Lincoln, NE with my high school years spent in the tiny town of Ashland, I came to the big city of Omaha in 2007. Four years later I found yoga from a flier left at the restaurant where I worked at the time and knew immediately it was a sign, with the great feel that my life was about to change drastically. The next day I took my first Vinyasa class, and while I had no idea what I was doing and felt a fool I was instantly hooked. That sense of bliss afterwards! After practicing under a yogi that challenged me both physically and mentally, I completed my 200 hour RYT training through the Omaha Yoga School in 2013. Shortly after this I bought the studio I so loved. After obtaining E-RYT status I led several teacher trainings over the course of two years, which taught me so much more than I would have imagined. There’s no greater pleasure than to watch students grow and come into their own. I’ve taught everything from Vinyasa to Restorative to Chair yoga in a wide variety of settings, such as corporate offices and a women’s shelter. It’s hard to pin down my favorite style, but I do love a good Vinyasa flow and have an affinity for Yin.
To me, yoga is dance, a sacred space where it is only my mat and I, where the rest of the world fades away and everything becomes just this breath, just this moment. Teaching has given me my voice, and I enjoy it as an opportunity to share all these things I’ve come to love. It connects me to some cosmic energy I’ve never experienced in quite the same way. Before every class I teach I smile to the Universe and say “Let’s make magic”. For it truly is just that.
